When someone calls Aquascape Creations, there is a good chance the first person they speak with is Carmen Castellanos. As co-owner and the main point of contact for our Bay Area pond company, Carmen plays an essential role in keeping our office, field crews, and client communication running efficiently.
From Chicago to the Pond Industry
Carmen was born in Chicago and has spent much of her life working alongside her husband, Jorge Castellanos. Our journey as business owners began long before Aquascape Creations. Carmen and I previously operated a landscaping company together in New York, where we gained valuable experience serving clients and managing day-to-day business operations.
That experience became an important part of the foundation for Aquascape Creations. Carmen understands the outdoor construction industry, but more importantly, she understands how much trust clients place in a company when inviting a crew onto their property.
She also shares my love for ponds and water features. Her appreciation for the work goes beyond the office—she understands the care, creativity, and effort involved in building and maintaining each project.

Carmen is usually the first person clients speak with when they contact our company. She answers phone calls, gathers project information, coordinates communication, and makes sure important details reach the right person.
Because she has years of experience around ponds and water features, Carmen can often help clients troubleshoot smaller pond problems over the phone. In some situations, a simple conversation with her may help identify the issue or guide the client toward a possible solution without immediately scheduling a service visit.

Although much of her work happens behind the scenes, its impact can be seen throughout every project. Her organization and attention to detail allow our field team to concentrate on creating ponds, waterfalls, recreation ponds, and other custom water features.
Carmen is also not afraid to step outside the office and help in the field when needed. Whether she is assisting the crew, speaking with a client on-site, or helping solve an unexpected situation, she is always willing to do what is necessary to keep the company moving forward.
