What is an intake bay?

How much does a custom pond cost?

How deep should a koi pond be?

For smaller koi ponds, around 2 feet deep can work when the pond is properly built with good circulation, filtration, and predator protection.
For medium to large koi ponds, we usually recommend 3 feet deep or more. Additional depth helps protect koi from predators, temperature swings, and poor water conditions. It also gives the fish more room to swim and helps create a more stable environment.
Can you add fish to a new pond right away?
It is better to let a new pond cycle before adding valuable fish. A new pond needs time for the water, bacteria, filtration, and ecosystem to mature. We usually recommend being patient before adding expensive koi.
