Our Journey to Certification
Our passion for creating stunning water features began in New York, where we first earned our Certified Aquascape Contractor (CAC) status. After relocating to the Bay Area and continuing our work, we proudly recommitted ourselves to the certification process, reaffirming our dedication to delivering exceptional craftsmanship and expertise to every project.
Certification is important, but it’s our hands-on experience that truly sets us apart. We’ve been involved in large and complex projects across the United States and internationally. These opportunities have allowed us to learn advanced techniques, collaborate with skilled professionals, and tackle challenging issues. This experience gives us a unique edge when it comes to offering high-quality water feature services in the Bay Area.

TEPOZTLAN 2024
We were hired to collaborate in this one of a kind project by our friend Alan Decker from Deckers Ponds in Mexico, this location is just amazing and the project turned up to be one of a kind, we worked almost non stop for 3 weeks to make this possible.
This build took place in Tepoztlán, a culturally rich town located in the state of Morelos, central Mexico, just south of Mexico City. Known for its dramatic mountain backdrop, vibrant artisan markets, and deep-rooted traditions, Tepoztlán offers a unique setting that blends natural beauty with historical character—an ideal environment for a thoughtfully designed recreational water feature.
This project came with its fair share of challenges—as expected when working outside our usual service area, and even more so when operating internationally. Coordinating logistics to ensure materials arrived on time was critical. We had to navigate a constantly changing jobsite, with over 100 crew members from other companies working simultaneously across the property. Staying on schedule required precise planning, quick decision-making, and adaptability under pressure.
Despite the hurdles, we take pride in tackling complex builds—and in this case, we not only met expectations, but completed the project two days ahead of schedule.
But personally, the real challenge was opening thousands of 50-pound sacks that arrived in small, unmarked bags. It was a time-consuming and labor-intensive task, but we pushed through to make sure everything was on track.
To design and construct a large-scale natural recreational pond system, featuring a 50′ x 30′ swim-safe pond integrated with a 40′ x 40′ constructed wetland filtration system—built for long-term clarity, low maintenance, and a seamless connection to the surrounding environment.
All of this had to be completed within a tight 23-day window.
Beyond the logistical and international coordination challenges, the physical scale of the work was significant: we installed over 40 tons of hand-placed cobblestone and more than 200 tons of natural boulders, carefully selected and arranged to create structural integrity, natural flow patterns, and an organic look and feel. Every element—from rock placement to aquatic plant selection—was executed with precision to ensure both aesthetic impact and biological performance.
This project was a large-scale, custom build that required a significant investment, driven by the specialized materials, expert craftsmanship, and the complexities of coordinating international logistics. From travel and accommodations to the high-quality materials and custom design, the total cost of the project fell into the six-figure range, with the first digit comfortably above 2 —reflecting the premium nature of the work and the complexity involved.
Then again, this is not the average project—it’s a one-of-a-kind build that required attention to every detail and a level of expertise that sets it apart.
