Yes. Aquascape Creations specializes in large-scale water feature construction, including recreation ponds, natural swimming ponds, large koi ponds, estate ponds, hillside waterfalls, and custom ecosystem ponds.

Some of our projects require heavy equipment, large excavation, wetland filtration, and hundreds of tons of boulders and stone.

A recreation pond is a larger natural-style pond designed for beauty, relaxation, and outdoor enjoyment. Some recreation ponds are designed for swimming, while others are built as large natural water features with waterfalls, beaches, boulders, plants, and ecosystem filtration.

A koi pond is usually designed mainly for keeping and viewing koi fish. A recreation pond is often larger and may include natural edges, beach areas, waterfalls, wetland filtration, and space for people to enjoy the water as part of the landscape.

Both require proper water movement, filtration, stone work, and long-term planning.

Yes. We design and build natural-style swimming ponds and recreation ponds using natural stone, biological filtration, water movement, plants, and carefully planned pond construction methods.

A natural swimming pond is designed to feel more connected to the landscape than a traditional pool.

A pondless waterfall is a waterfall or stream that disappears into an underground reservoir instead of ending in an open pond. It gives the sound and look of moving water without the maintenance and safety concerns of a full pond.

Pondless waterfalls are a great option for front yards, small backyards, hillsides, courtyards, and clients who want water movement without fish.

Yes. We build custom waterfalls of many sizes, from small pondless waterfalls to large hillside waterfalls and estate water features. Our waterfalls are built with natural stone, proper water movement, and artistic boulder placement so they look like they belong in the landscape.

An ecosystem pond is a pond designed to work with nature. It uses proper circulation, biological filtration, rocks, gravel, aquatic plants, and beneficial bacteria to help keep the water balanced.

When built correctly, an ecosystem pond becomes a living water feature that supports fish, plants, and wildlife.

The right filtration depends on the size and purpose of the pond. Some ponds may use a skimmer, BioFalls, pressure filter, wetland filter, intake bay, aeration, or a combination of systems.

For larger ponds and recreation ponds, we often recommend wetland filtration or intake bay systems because they are effective, natural-looking, and easier to maintain long term.

A wetland filter is a natural-style biological filtration system that uses gravel, water movement, and beneficial bacteria to help clean the water. Wetland filters are often used in large koi ponds, recreation ponds, and natural swimming pond systems.

They also create a beautiful natural area where aquatic plants can grow.

An intake bay is a natural-looking pump intake system used instead of a traditional skimmer in many larger ponds. It helps collect surface debris in one area and makes maintenance easier.

Intake bays are especially useful for large ponds, recreation ponds, and ponds with a lot of leaves or surface debris.

The cost depends on the size, access, excavation, stone selection, filtration, lighting, plants, equipment, and overall design. A small pond or pondless waterfall may cost much less than a large recreation pond or hillside waterfall.

Large custom water features can require major excavation, heavy equipment, large boulders, and advanced filtration, so every project needs to be priced based on the actual site and design.

No. We value our time, and we also respect our clients’ time.

Aquascape Creations offers professional consultations for clients who are serious about planning a custom water feature. Large ponds, recreation ponds, waterfalls, and rebuilds require experience, proper planning, and a site-specific approach.

During the consultation, we review your property, listen to your goals, look at access and site conditions, and discuss realistic options for your project.

Our consultation fee typically ranges from $200 to $500 within our service area. For out-of-state or international consultations, fees can be several thousand dollars, depending on travel, time, and project scope.

This allows us to give each client the attention, knowledge, and planning their project deserves.

The timeline depends on the size and complexity of the project. A small pondless waterfall may take a few days, while a large koi pond, recreation pond, or hillside water feature may take several weeks.

Access, weather, soil conditions, boulder size, equipment needs, and design details can all affect the schedule.

Yes. Aquascape Creations can rebuild, renovate, or improve existing ponds and waterfalls. Many older ponds have problems such as poor filtration, leaks, shallow depth, bad rock placement, unsafe edges, or difficult maintenance.

A rebuild can improve the appearance, function, water quality, and long-term enjoyment of the pond.

Yes. We can inspect and repair many pond and waterfall leaks. Some leaks are small and can be corrected without rebuilding the whole feature. Other leaks may require stripping back sections, resetting stone, replacing liner, or resealing parts of the water feature.

The best repair method depends on the source and severity of the leak.

Yes. Aquascape Creations provides pond maintenance services, including pond cleanouts, seasonal maintenance, filter cleaning, pump inspection, plant trimming, algae management, and general water feature care.

Maintenance needs depend on the size, filtration system, fish load, plants, and surrounding landscape.

Most ponds benefit from seasonal maintenance and regular filter cleaning. Some ponds may need a full cleanout once a year, while others with proper filtration and balance may need less frequent deep cleaning.

Large ponds and recreation ponds may require a custom maintenance plan.

A properly built pond is much easier to maintain than a poorly built one. Good filtration, correct pump sizing, proper rock and gravel installation, aquatic plants, and healthy water movement all make a big difference.

The goal is not a maintenance-free pond, but a pond that is balanced and manageable.

Yes. Koi can live in an ecosystem pond when the pond is built with enough depth, filtration, circulation, and oxygen. Koi produce more waste than smaller fish, so the pond must be designed correctly for the number and size of fish.

Koi ponds are generally built deeper than decorative ponds, but the ideal depth depends on the pond size, fish load, filtration system, location, and overall design.

For smaller koi ponds, around 2 feet deep can work when the pond is properly built with good circulation, filtration, and predator protection.

For medium to large koi ponds, we usually recommend 3 feet deep or more. Additional depth helps protect koi from predators, temperature swings, and poor water conditions. It also gives the fish more room to swim and helps create a more stable environment.

It is better to let a new pond cycle before adding valuable fish. A new pond needs time for the water, bacteria, filtration, and ecosystem to mature. We usually recommend being patient before adding expensive koi.

Yes. Ponds often attract birds, frogs, dragonflies, butterflies, and other wildlife. That is part of what makes a natural pond special. A well-designed pond can become a living ecosystem in your yard.

Frogs usually do not make pond water bad by themselves. In fact, frogs are often a sign that the pond has become part of the natural environment. Water issues are more often caused by poor filtration, too much organic debris, overfeeding fish, or lack of circulation.

Yes. We install underwater lights, waterfall lights, path lighting, and landscape lighting around water features. Lighting can completely change the experience of a pond or waterfall at night and make the space more enjoyable.

Yes. Aquatic plants can be included in many pond and waterfall projects. Plants help soften the edges, improve the natural look, provide habitat, and support the pond ecosystem.

Plant selection depends on the pond type, sun exposure, depth, and design.

We use natural boulders, cobble, gravel, and specialty stone depending on the project. For large-scale projects, boulder selection is one of the most important parts of the design.

The right stone gives the pond structure, character, and a natural appearance.

Boulder placement is what makes a pond or waterfall feel natural instead of man-made. Large stones must be placed with the right angles, depth, spacing, and relationship to the water.

Good boulder placement requires both construction knowledge and an artistic eye.

Yes. Hillside water features can be beautiful, but they require careful planning. Elevation, drainage, access, equipment, soil, and boulder placement all matter.

Hillsides are often great locations for streams, waterfalls, pondless waterfalls, and recreation ponds.

Yes. Aquascape Creations is a Certified Aquascape Contractor, and we use high-quality Aquascape components on many of our projects, including pumps, filtration systems, liner, underlayment, vaults, Aquablox, and other pond construction products.

Aquascape Creations is not just a pond installer. We specialize in creating natural water features that feel like they belong in the landscape. Our work combines excavation, filtration, stone placement, water movement, and artistry.

We are especially known for large-scale water features, recreation ponds, pondless waterfalls, and custom ecosystem ponds.

The first step is to contact Aquascape Creations and schedule a consultation. We will discuss your property, access, goals, budget, desired style, and the type of water feature you want to create.

From there, we can help determine whether your project is best suited for a koi pond, recreation pond, natural swimming pond, pondless waterfall, fountain, or full custom design.
