Mountain House California.

“Jorge, Carmen, and the team have been absolutely incredible!”
This pondless measures 15′ long varying in widths from 2′ to 6′ with 2′ elevation, we used large machine size boulders varying from 50lbs to 500lbs.
We also added a stacked sphere to add elevation and interest tho this feature.
At night this waterfall will look even better
As certified Aquascape contractors, we take great pride in using their high-quality components. For this project, we incorporated the Aquascape Pondless Vault, which houses two pumps. We specifically chose the Aquascape Aquasurge Pump Series for their reliability and cost-efficient operation, ensuring optimal performance with minimal energy consumption.
Our liner is a durable 45mil EPDM, and we always use an underlayment to protect both the liner and the substrate. The reservoir is made up of 10 large Aquascape Aquablox, which, when paired with the vault, provides a total volume of approximately 300 gallons.
This setup guarantees consistent water flow through the cascades at any setting. The pumps are fully adjustable, allowing for a range from a minimal flow to maximum capacity, giving you full control over the water feature.
Additionally, we installed an Aquascape Stacked Slate Sphere, adding a touch of elegance and natural beauty to the design.
A total of 7 tons of boulders were used to complete the project, creating a stunning and natural aesthetic.
In reality, this project went very smoothly, with no major issues. Since this is a brand-new development, our client had the foresight to plan the water feature before any other backyard installations, which made the process much more convenient for us.
The only initial challenge we faced was the proposed height of the feature. Our client originally envisioned something nearly as tall as the fence. However, based on our experience, we knew that would not be ideal for a backyard of this size and flat layout. To create the illusion of height, we incorporated the Aquascape Stacked Slate Sphere, which added visual height without overwhelming the space. Attempting to build a feature as tall as the fence would have resulted in a “volcano effect” water feature, which would not have suited the overall design.
The total cost for the water feature was $29,000, which included the lighting, the Aquascape Stacked Slate Sphere, an additional pump, Wi-Fi controllers, all necessary materials and components, as well as the electrical work to install an outlet nearby.
The project was completed in 5 days with a 4-man crew and the use of an excavator.

As certified Aquascape contractors, we take great pride in using their high-quality components. For this project, we incorporated the Aquascape Pondless Vault and added an additional pump while keeping the old one, now our client can choose from small flow to a large and dramatic effect
Like always we used a durable 45mil EPDM liner, and we always use an underlayment to protect both the liner and the substrate. The reservoir is made up of 15 large Aquascape Aquablox, which, when paired with the vault, provides a total volume of approximately 500 gallons.
This setup guarantees consistent water flow through the cascades at any setting. The pumps are fully adjustable, allowing for a range from a minimal flow to maximum capacity, giving you full control over the water feature.
We used all existing boulders and brougt an additional 5 tons for the water feature alone plus many more for the walls and landscaping area which were additional cost.
Access on this project definitely required some maneuvering and skill. Getting our excavator into the working area took precise planning—and a bit of neighborly support, as we coordinated with their neighbor to exit through his property. Since this build had to be done from the bottom up, including multiple walls and pathways, staging everything correctly was crucial. In the end, solid planning and clear communication made all the difference. Our client is thrilled—she finally has the waterfall she always dreamed of.
The total cost of the water feature came in around $35,000, which included lighting, aquatic plants, and all the components needed to complete the waterfall. The surrounding landscape work was a separate scope and cost.
Our team was on-site for about four weeks to complete the entire project, though the waterfall portion itself took approximately six days to build.
